About us

Our Story

Stouslie Snugs Luxury farm Glamping is sited on our small family run mixed livestock farm covering 155 acres of breathtaking land which boasts beautiful views across the Teviotdale valley on the west and Ruberslaw to the east.

Stouslie farm along with the neighbouring farm, West Boonraw, has been in the Anderson family for generations. Having a flock of 700 Greyface and Texel cross sheep along with a herd of 50 Aberdeen Angus cross cattle, we certainly have plenty to keep us busy. Not to mention our small pedigree herd of Shorthorn cattle and our son’s very own small flock of Suffolk sheep who are quite a bunch of characters!

Stouslie farm was previously rented from a local estate but in 2017 we took the opportunity to buy and own the farm. We knew that in order to secure the future sustainability of the farm and provide an opportunity for future generations that we would need to diversify. This was the beginning of our Glamping journey.

Our planning application was submitted in January 2020 but it was a long rollercoaster ride before we were finally granted permission to build in February 2021, including an initial rejection followed up by a unanimous approval at appeal stage.

We have documented the build on Facebook and Instagram where you can follow our journey through from a grass field to a luxury farm Glamping site!
